Luna Park Girl

Holidaying near St Kilda meant we walked past Luna Park almost every day. Alesia was very keen to go to the "fair". When she finally got there on a Sunday morning she was very excited and a bit nervous. We started out on some of the smaller rides, like the pink plane above. She enjoyed these, and the big Carousel, but was soon ready to graduate to something faster.

The next challenge was the classic Luna Park Scenic Railway. Chris and Alesia had to line up for about 30 minutes to get onto this one. If you look closely at the photo above you can see a man in the third or fourth car from the front, wearing white and waving. This is Chris, and Alesia is sitting next to him. She loved it, squealling on the fast corners and sudden drops.

So then we went and found the Dragon, the fastest roller coaster that Alesia could go on (she had a height limit). She loved the Dragon so much that she went on twice - once with Chris and once with me. She was a good screamer on the fast corners and got off wearing a face-splitting grin.

We then wandered around the sideshow games for a while, before it was time to head home. We wanted Alesia to experience Luna Park at night with all the lights, so we convinced her to wear her kid's pass all day. Then we walked back just on sunset. We were all disappointed to find that Luna Park closes at 6pm on Sunday (we should have read the sign) but we went out for yummy pizza anyway!
