Desert Storm

While on my way back from a monitoring visit to the Gobi Desert we were fortunate enough to get a flat tire. Fortunate because when we stopped in a small village to get the tire repaired we were treated to the unusual experience of watching a storm front move through the desert, complete with forked lightening and rolling thunder. Heavy rain fell, and then the front passed, leaving us with a rainbow. We have a garden in this village, maybe this summer will bring their best harvest yet. Click on a photo to see a bigger version.
