Our long weekend...

We had Monday off this weekend. With a high of -20 on Saturday and only -13 on Sunday (and a cold wind) we only ventured out a few times, so had to entertain ourselves. Friends dropped in on Friday night for a chat. Saturday I took Alesia to church. Keira got hold of the camera again. Sunday we hung out at home and went to friend's place for pizza in the evening. Monday we hung out at home and went out into the wind to walk to a favourite restaurant for lunch. We had a wedding with Alesia as the blushing bride. Keira took a portrait series of Chris. I did some cooking: choc orange muffins (dark toblerone smashed with the rolling pin and scattered through it); coriander chutney; pumpkin soup; two curries with chapatis; chick pea and coriander pate; and to top off my earth mother efforts - home made chewy muesli bars. I also finished my fourth Jaspar Fforde book (great fun, borrow him from the library to see what I mean), Chris and I finished the fourth season of Battlestar Galactica - only to find that the final 10 episodes are in season 4.5 (which we don't have)... and the playroom was destroyed, cleaned up again, destroyed, cleaned up again....mmm. Chris also helped me improve my forehand in table tennis. Alesia did get out to improve her bike riding without training wheels and can now corner alone on an icy drive-way.

Keira put lipstick on for the wedding. The blushing bride is pictured below.

Keira took this photo. I have no idea what it is, but it is beautiful.

Self-portraits feature strongly in Keira's photography work.

We are hoping the weather warms up soon so we don't have to keep up this indoors entertainment for too much longer...
