With the weather still cold we continue to entertain ourselves at home. Alesia and Keira prove that it is necessary to be dressed as a princess for any household activity, from watching pasta boil (it is true, a watched pot never boils),

...and grating cheese for pasta. I have been getting Alesia and Keira to get some of their own meals so they can start to learn the basics of cooking. They make a mess, but they had fun making their own pasta and sauce.
Alesia and Keira also proved that gardening is much more fun when dressed as princesses. Here they are helping me fill pots with potting mix for the new seedlings.
Or disco dancing to Mamma Mia. I remember dancing in dress-ups to my mother's ABBA records, using the vacuum cleaner hose as a microphone - so they come by this honestly I guess.
Keira had braids for about four days, and this was the result when we finally took them out.
We usually venture out once or twice a weekend to a cafe. This is melting snow on the windscreen of the car. We are parked outside Michel's Cafe - a French bakery that does the best chocolate croissants in town, for about 80 cents...
And to warm things up a bit we went for lunch at one of the Mongolian BBQ restaurants. It is all you can eat. You fill up a bowl with what you want in your stir-fry and then the cooks put it on this giant hot plate and do tricks with your tofu with their big knives. Very touristy, but lots of fun.
