Birthday Girl

Alesia had an early birthday on Sunday - as we will be on the beach in the Philippines on her actual birthday. She was a bit disappointed to wake up and find no pile of presents, but we fixed that when we went outside and found a new bike in the garage.

Keira was very happy to claim Alesia's old bike as her own. Being first-born I don't know the hardships of being second all the time, but Keira was pretty happy with HER bike and wouldn't let Alesia have a ride on it when Alesia found her new bike a bit difficult to master.

The theme of the party was "Fancy Nancy." So we had an activity "Pin the Tiara on Fancy Nancy."

Alesia showing that even when blindfolded she still calls the shots....

Parents helped out with all the activities. We kept the kids busy making beaded bracelets or necklaces, doing colouring, doing face-painting, doing a treasure hunt, and we didn't feed them lots of sugar until right at the end of the party!

Every party should have a reading nook! Thanks for all the Fancy Nancy books Aunt Sallymae.

Food time was chaotic and fun. We even splashed out and got some grapes. Who knows how many food miles are on them...

A nice family photo, minus Keira, who was somewhere running around in just a singlet and a skirt.

Alesia chose the cake - a white confection covered in flakes of white chocolate. Happy Birthday sweetie.
