Sleding/Sleging

We splashed out and brought a cheap sled (slege to some others from other countries, whereas sleging/sledging has a different connotation for cricket fans). The five-day holiday for Tsaagan Tsar gave us several opportunities to try it out.

We all went out to Nukht, about 20 minutes out of the city. We rugged up for extreme cold and found ourselves perfectly dressed for a sunny day, with no wind and dazzling snow - except Keira who couldn't seem to keep her mittens on.

Keira wasn't sure what all the fuss was, but she was coming down with a cold so that may explain her complete inability to walk in the snow.Alesia threw herself into sleding with gusto, except for the effort required to lug the thing back up the hill.

Chris also enjoyed going down the hill, even dragging his daughter behind him on one trip.

I had a go with Keira. I am glad that the camera was not in the camera bag behind me as we went down!

On the drive back into down we were dismayed to see how bad the air pollution was. You should be able to see the city in this photo.

Keira got quite sick during the rest of the holiday (we are getting over an ear infection now) but Chris and Alesia went sledding two more times over the long weekend. It is great getting experience in this northern hemisphere kind of winter play. It tires Alesia out also!
