While in Thailand I climbed a waterfall....with Keira strapped to my back. It was exhilarating, something I would have done without question before I had children. This time I only did it after realising that the limestone deposits on the rocks that made the waterfall so unusual also made it almost completely non-slip. Although it was against my intuition, the "stickiest" rocks were right where the water was flowing the fastest.

Keira did not seem to mind, so long as I didn't bang her head on any of the low hanging branches. We both got completely saturated, which was novel now living in Mongolia where it only rains a few times a year. I have been thinking about what I was like before I started working for ADRA and I think that doing what I do has made me a bit too serious at times, so climbing the waterfall was one step towards remembering the spontaneous things I did some 10 years ago!
