Chris and I now have Mongolian car licenses, so it is time to learn to drive. From our perspective they drive on the "wrong" side of the road here, so that is an initial challenge. Chris decided that we needed to visit Hotel Mongolia, since the girls have been there twice with Nymaa. We were also prevented from leaving the city zone due to the quarantine regarding food, hand and mouth disease (which has had all primary schools closed for the past three weeks). Natalie, Terence (Finance Director) and Gabriella (stranded ADRA Germany representative - had her passport stolen) came with us. After stalling several times in traffic as our old Land Cruiser takes a while to warm up, Chris did really well in the Sunday morning traffic. Hotel Mongolia is about 20km outside the city, and takes about 40 minutes to drive there.
Here we are at the car again...The day was sunny, with a crisp wind that dried hair, lips, eyes, hands, pretty much any exposed skin.
Off to the river, which is shallow at the moment and absolutely icy. I doubt I will ever swim in Mongolia. I found Sydney cold after PNG, so Mongolia will never ever be warm enough!
Yes, that rock was not big enough and Keira had a chance to wash her socks.
