On our last day in Bendigo we visited our friends, Janine and Roger, who live in Maiden Gully. We have known them for 10 years, as we met them in Bougainville (why is it that Bougainville friends have all settled in the Bendigo area?) Since we met them they have had four kids and have a great big house and yard in Maiden Gully. Alesia rode bikes, jumped on the trampoline (again, she really wants one now) and played in their big cubby. Then we decided to drive to Castlemaine for lunch in Saff's Cafe (really good place for lunch if you are ever in Castlemaine). After lunch everyone enjoyed icypoles in the park (with six kids between us it was cheaper to buy icy poles from the supermarket than visit the ice cream shop!).
