Goodbye Rex Jensen

Chris' grandfather, Rex Jensen, died not too long after we were in Melbourne for the Christening. This time we flew down and caught the train back. The funeral was a special time. It was the second funeral Alesia had attended, but the first she may remember. She wasn't really sure what was going on, but ever since then we have been talking a lot about death.

The funeral service was taken by my grandfather, Pr Ken Mead. His wife is Elwyne - which is how Keira got her middle name. Above is a photo of Keira with her namesake at the funeral. Alesia was a bit of trouble during the service (wanting to drink juice all the time) and Elwyne was very helpful (and patient!).

After the funeral we took the chance for me to have some photos with both the girls, as I have not done that yet. The photo above is not the best one, but that one is on my other computer and if I don't get these photos done tonight this blog will be even more out of date! Anyway, it is not a bad photo of me.

The train trip from Melbourne to Sydney went well. There has been rain, so the view from the train was lovely and green - which was really nice to look at. The girls travelled well, but it was a bit of a challenge being awake enough to negotiate the train trip from Central Station in Sydney to our house after 12 hours of sitting on the inter-city train!
