Just wanted to share some photos, as it is has been a while since I updated the blog site. My reasons for being so slack are basically a month of colds and flu shared between me and the girls (Chris has missed the worse so far). Added to that I had to prepare for a trip to Fiji the week after Rex Jensen's funeral (more on that in another posting). On top of that I had uni assignments to do. Last one was submitted on Monday, so finally I can get to do something for me...Anyway, the photo above was taken a while ago when Keira was enjoying sitting in one of the lounge chairs. She is wearing a bib that was a gift from Chris' mum after a recent trip to Hawaii. Keira likes to sit up now, but she still gets the wobbles so has to have cushions around her or someone sitting behind her. She is at the stage of banging toys together now, and clearly has her favourite toys that she reaches for all the time. Even though she has been sick she is still so easy to care for. She goes to bed at 6:30pm most nights and sleeps through until 5:30am. She wakes up smiling and smiles most of the time, even when her nose is blocked. She is very excited about food at the moment and wants to try eating anything. She has pulled some funny faces when trying new foods but basically has a go at most things.
This is Keira having a go on a slide when we were in Victoria. We went for a drive over to Healesville and visited a farmer's market. Maybe she is not quite up to slides yet...
This photo was taken by Darshna, Alesia's Family Day Care provider. I asked Darshna not to let Alesia nap with the others in the afternoon, as we can't get her to bed until after 9pm that night. Darshna has tried, but sometimes every kid needs a sleep! Darshna is Indian and has introduced Alesia to mild curries, rice and roti. Alesia surprised us the other night by asking for a bowl of plain rice when were were at a restaurant. Alesia loves Family Day Care. There is a boy there who is about four and is as articulate as Alesia. His name is Alex Lane (and we always refer to him as Alex Lane). He is very influential with Alesia, so we get lots of "Alex Lane says..." statements.
This photo was taken a while ago on a trip we did to Jervis Bay. Alesia was given some stickers and decided to create a form of body art. Problem was the stickers liked her skin and getting them off proved to be fairly painful! We were at a house we have stayed in a few times, apparently there are still stickers in strange places around the house.
