Fairy Princess
We had a very social weekend. On Friday afternoon we decided to head over to Manly. Chris went swimming in the waves, which had a strange current and were fairly choppy, while Alesia dug holes and built a sand castle. We then decided it was too windy and headed over to the harbour side and sat in the sun near the ferry terminal. Maybe it was the end of the cricket or maybe it is just summer in Manly, but there were people everywhere and there was a great summery atmosphere. Keira didn’t enjoy herself that much but the rest of us did.
On Saturday Chris’ brothers and their partners came over for lunch. The six of us (Chris, me, Mat, Rontania, Anthony and Natalie) all went for a walk to Wahroonga Park, where the boys bonded by throwing a ball at each other over great distances, and the girls took turns in entertaining Alesia on the play equipment.
On Sunday we had breakfast with Kym Piez, a friend who worked with us in PNG. She has a son, Madison, who is 7 months old and an energetic crawler. He loved getting into Alesia’s toys. She wasn’t impressed by this and kept moving things away from him. Maybe a sign of how she will handle Keira when she is more mobile? At lunchtime we attended a birthday party for a friend’s daughter. She was turning 5 and the theme was “dress-ups”. They have just moved into a new house and I think they decided the party was a good way to have a house warming. As we arrived we gave Alesia the birthday present to give to the birthday girl. She didn’t want to hold it, saying she was “a bit shy”. When we went inside we were all a bit shy when faced with a crowd of fairy princesses and pirates. It rained so everyone was forced to go inside the room set aside for the party and it was elbow to elbow. During a break in the rain the kids went into the pool. Only two nearly drowned, otherwise the rest were fine! When we got home that afternoon I think all of us except Keira were tired from the party!
Keira has just woken up, so no more time to write now. Enjoy the pictures.
Love
Michelle
