Saturday drive

On a weekend a few weeks ago we took a visiting friend (Christian Held from Switzerland for those of you reading who know him - see my Facebook for a photo of him) to monastery ruins about an hour from Ulaanbaatar. It was a VERY chilly day, but after our picnic we made the effort to climb up to the single restored temple (there used to be hundreds of buildings here). I managed to get some photos so that it looks like we were enjoying the place alone, but in reality there were about 30 school bus loads of kids enjoying the place with us....
