Christmas Eve is usually spent at the Jensen House. This year we had a BBQ on their patio. Alesia was helped into the Christmas spirit by Aunt Sallymae, who provided musical flashing reindeer antlers, and a selection of feathery masks to pass the time while the meat was cooking.
Everyone got to try on the headdress - even Keira had a go at one point. We braved the patio to eat, even though the wind was really chilly. I got to try out my new icebreaker thermal jumper.
I brought a beanie out for Keira to wear, but Alesia grabbed it. So now all our photos have Alesia looking like she is hanging in the hood and looking for trouble. Alesia decided that meat was not too bad and had two sausages (and little else) before desert.
We decided to all put some money in and buy presents from World Vision this year, but everyone also brought something for Alesia and Keira so there was plenty of wrapping paper for the traditional Jensen brother's paper fight around the Christmas tree. Alesia gave everyone party poppers, so we had plenty of noise. Alesia was happy with her presents and immediately got Aunty Rontania to read her some of her new stories. Below they are reading "Fancy Nancy", while Keira enjoys grapes. Keira went to bed and Alesia stayed up to jump around with Hi-5 at the beginning of the Carol's by Candlelight program.
