Wiseman's Ferry

This week I am trying out contact lenses. After three days I don't feel like there is as much gravel in my eyes. I also intially had trouble driving because it felt like I couldn't see because I wasn't wearing glasses. Today I often forgot I was wearing them, so I am winning. It will be a nice novelty to buy normal sunglasses instead of keeping my perscription ones. Chris wants me to get contacts that are strange colours so I can have different colour eyes. I am not a natural at getting the things on and off my eye. The first day I had to sit at the desk with a mirror and take deep breaths every time I put my fingers close to my eyes. Tonight I got them both out during the CSI ad break.

Yesterday we decided to go for a drive, as the weather was nice. We ended up at Wiseman's Ferry. After having lunch there in a park by the car ferry we went across and followed a lovely river valley up to a little place called St Albans. Now I have another image in my mind for St Albans other than a suburb in the west of Melbourne. After trying out the swings and slide there (we have to regularly stop at playgrounds for Alesia) we decided to drive another road home. After following the Hawkesbury River for a few hours we finally found a way through the mountains back to the city. It ended up being a long day, but it was lovely to see the bush and the river. We might look into a houseboat for a weekend.

Chris flew to Indonesia today. He is participating in a disaster simulation exercise, so has gone off all kitted out for a disaster response in a volcano area. We went out to the airport with him for something to do this Sunday afternoon. Alesia is very familiar with the airport now and loves to see the planes and queue up to check-in. She wasn't impressed when we left Chris behind at the departure gate and we went back to the car. When we got home I distracted Alesia with the promise of finger painting. It turned into a whole body affair with feet prints and hand prints. Pictured is some of Alesia's handi-foot work.

Only 25 or so days until the baby is due. I have attached a recent picture of me so any of you interested can see the size of the belly. We have a contingency plan in case the baby arrives this week - but hopefully I won't have to put it into action. My post-modern essay is submitted. I have one week now to complete my final assignment in my transformative leadership subject. I have to do an action-research project based on an organisational issue I am familiar with, so it is a good chance to churn out some ADRA stories.

Have a great week....
