The swimming pool

In between all the rain we are having we have had some really hot days. We got out the little paddling pool that usually gets used as a bouncy thing inside during winter. The girl's have been having fun in the yard of our compound playing with the hose and getting several sets of clothes wet each day. The pool eventually got a puncture, so we fixed that and as I write I can hear the hee haw of the pump as the security guard puts air in the pool again for Alesia, Keira and Amina (8 year old neighbour who lives upstairs) to use this afternoon when the sun won't burn them too much. Chris is off playing cricket (or fricket as Keira calls it - she hasn't figured out the difference between football and cricket yet) for the first time this summer. We had Indian for dinner on Friday evening and there was an invitation posted at the door of the restaurant for people who wanted to play cricket on Sunday afternoon. We have started two weeks of annual leave and really don't know what we are going to do with it yet! In these photos you can see the wonderful urban environment that surrounds our back yard, but at least we now have a yard with some grass and I can literally say to the girls "go outside and play!"
