A few weeks later I met my friend again and he said that an apartment was available in his building. We had a look - it was too small, we would have to walk 20mins to work in the morning. But there was a playground for the girls and a secure entrance so they could wander around outside without supervision. We said we would think about it.
While I was in the countryside I thought about it and asked the opinion of those travelling with me. When I came back we had another look at the apartment. The second look was more positive than the first, and this time I took Nymaa with me. She approved of the apartment, so we decided to move. Just like that (we are also saving the church $400 a month).
Then the packing started. Of course we chose to move the week we had visitors from ADRA Australia. So it was meetings during the day and packing boxes at night. Last Friday was the big move, and most of our staff at the office helped out with the carrying. This made the move go quickly but turned it into a chaotic event and we actually forgot our stove! This week has been spent unpacking and getting the girl's settled. I think we have made the right choice, even though we have a lot less storage space and the girl's are sleeping in a space about the size of the cupboards they had in the old apartment. The girls have been in and out to the playground many times, and playing with the hose on the grass. I have two piles of stuff left to unpack, but otherwise the apartment is looking nice. We have had lasagna downstairs with our friends who live upstairs (and they have a 7 year old daughter, so Alesia is always missing with her).

Two veiws of the lounge room

The former dining room that is now the playroom - it gets sun from three sides and is the best part of the apartment

The kitchen is nice, smaller than our other one but will do fine.

And the pile of stuff left to unpack...

I have had to leave behind my garden patch at work....but there is a spot of bare earth behind the building that looks promising....
