Korean Stopover

Yes, it is the last day of 2008 and I am going to write about what we did on the 8 of December while in transit from Mongolia. We stopped off in Seoul for 24 hours and caught up with our friends the Chalice family. We met them earlier in 2008 when we all attended Mission Institute. The Chalice's work at Sahmyook SDA University in Seoul. Apparently they have 6000 students attending the university, but the campus was like no university campus I have seen - clean, quiet, no radical leanings to be seen anywhere!

This is Alesia in a borrowed coat and Christmas hat, playing with the last bit of snow she will see for a while. Due to a lack of beds in the university transit flat Alesia had her first sleepover in Seoul when she stayed with her friend Riley in his house while Chris, Keira and me slept in the transit. She was very excited about this and apparently behaved very well.

Instead of bringing our own warm clothes we just borrowed Natalie's warm things, which we were responsible for bringing back to Australia. Now that I write this almost a month later I am not exactly sure where these things are, as I haven't given them back to Natalie yet! Better check the bottom of the suitcases.

Riley is from South Africa. He and Alesia like to play that they are tigers stalking each other. Chopsticks create great tiger teeth. We had a wonderful quick lunch at a local restaurant. Chris and I were very envious of the lovely location of the university - they even have their own lake. To our Mongolian eyes, bereft of any trees with leaves for a while now, the campus in winter was lovely for us. We also enjoyed not wearing our thermals!
