Fancy Shoes

It has been cool enough this week with the rain for Keira to wear some warmer clothes. She is also getting so long that we have moved from 000 to 00 in sizes. She also got to wear her fancy shoes that were a Christmas present from Uncle Edward. The shoes serve no other purpose than for us to think they are cute, but she didn't seem to mind wearing them.

Keira has started to roll over, but when she gets on her tummy she waves her arms and legs around like a bug stuck on its back (even though she is stuck on her tummy). Becuase she cries Alesia has decided that she can be helpful and roll Keira back - which she does with great speed and efficiency. So far Keira hasn't seemed to mind. I guess Alesia hasn't banged Keira's head on the floor yet.

Keira likes to be carried in the baby sling now, facing outwards so she can see what is going on. When people stop to say hello she grins and kicks enthusiastically. When I am at work I carry her down at lunch time to get some lunch from the cafeteria at the nearby hospital and she grins at everyone.

Yesterday was Alesia's last day at Kids College - the long day care she has been attending each Friday. They have raised their fees to $72 a day and Alesia didn't seem to like it that much. But of course as soon as we decide to pull her out she finally makes friends with a little girl called Emma and was sad to say good-bye to Emma yesterday. On her second last day we picked her up early and she announced to the whole room as she left "I love you!"

This morning we were talking about what Alesia might do when she grows up. She asked if she could be a singer or a dancer, because she didn't want to work in an office. I asked her what she would like to do and she said she will go to school.

We are watching the Easter Carol DVD by Vegetales at the moment. In an hour or so we will wake Keira and head off to Sabbath School. Weekends are the hardest when Chris is not around as there is so much time to fill in without the routines we have during the week. Alesia and I have been crossing off each day on a calender to count how long it is until Chris comes back. It might help her start to understand the concept of days and time. At the moment Alesia uses the words today, this afternoon, yesterday etc to refer to any kind of time or memory - whether it happened yesterday or last year.
