Waiting

This week was the week I wanted to get through at work before the baby arrives. I made it though strategic planning and year end meetings. Although this basically meant that I was just sitting in meetings all day I still ended the week very tired. Both Chris and I have spent this weekend trying to get some energy back. Our tiredness must have affected Alesia, as she went to sleep at 6:30pm on Sunday night and slept through until 7:30am Monday morning.

Only 10 days to go until the due date now. I saw the doctor on Friday and he said the baby has moved further down. Still lots of wriggling by the baby, so a bit longer to wait yet. Alesia has been practicing looking after her baby doll. She wants to do things very realistically when she changes her doll's nappy and twice this weekend she has gone off and covered the doll and herself with nappy rash cream. We have also spent a lot of time giving the baby doll a bottle. It is funny that she choses to do this herself, as I haven't promoted any baby games. I guess it is something like how she insists on wearing something pink most days - even though I actively promote against pink. Her stubborness is starting to show with toilet training though. She now wants to go into the bathroom all by herself and go to the toilet without any help. This would be fine if she was a fraction taller and could get up on the toilet alone, but she struggles away and usually calls out for help when she needs it.

This Friday I plan to move into my new office at work. I looked at it briefly last week and it has about 10 filing cabinets against the wall. It used to be one of the offices for my employer's superanuation scheme, but they have outsourced that now so the office is empty. I guess they had lots of paper to file. There are so many cupboards in it that I am going to lose Alesia when she visits. The good thing is that it is big enough to set up a nursery corner for the new baby. It also has a door (I am in open plan now) that I will be able to close if the baby is upset or needs feeding etc. So it will be easier for me next year. But it will be quiet as it is downstairs from where I am now, so separate from all the other ADRA people that I talk to during the day.

No other news, just waiting for the new baby now!
