Still waiting

Well I am due on Wednesday, and it will be nice to get my belly back. Chris decided that he wanted to be social this weekend, so invited people over for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. It was fun, but we ended up with two late nights. Chris was nice and let me sleep in this weekend. Luckily I am still sleeping reasonably well.

Alesia was sick this week with a virus that gave her fevers on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. She is over it now, and wanted to go swimming today. After her swim she fell asleep on the couch at 6pm. So we are having a rare night of quiet.

I wanted to get to Friday this week and finish work by moving into my new office. I made it, and moved all my stuff into a cupboard in the new office, locked it up on Friday afternoon and I will unpack it when I go back to work in February. My new office is huge - big enough for me to put a nursery for the new baby in the corner, and a play table for Alesia. I can shut the door and not annoy anyone with the baby, so I plan to do that for several months next year. Hopefully I am so un-noticed that no-one will question the amount of flexibility I am taking!

We have a short-list of about five names, so will probably take them into the hospital with us and see which one is the best fit when the baby arrives. We were certain about Alesia's name well before she was born, so it has been annoying not being able to settle on something this time.

On Friday the staff at ADRA Australia surprised me with a baby shower. It was a lovely thought, complete with baby games and little prizes. I really appreciated it because we don't have enough friends up here for someone else to organise something like that, so it was nice that they thought of it at work.

We have been listening to U2 for the past week, as Chris had the opportunity to go to the concert but chose to save his money. So we went to JB and brought a DVD of the current concert tour and some other U2 cds and have been playing them all weekend. Alesia seems to like the music too. Though she does prefer High 5 - which I have never shown her so I have no idea where she has watched it.

Alesia finished family day care this week. She starts with the new provider on 13 December, so we have a gap of a few weeks. It will save us some money, but will also mean Alesia will most likely be around when the new baby is born. That will keep us extra busy. She is looking forward to it though, and has had another episode of nappy cream when changing her doll's nappy. I have attached a picture of the result. Luckily it all washed off ok. I have also attached the latest picture of me and the belly.

Have a great week. Maybe next week we will be able to share pictures of (and the name) of the new baby!
